191 Countries, One Summit: Bangkok Readies for World's Top Economic Gathering

What Happened

Thailand has announced its readiness to host the 2026 Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group , one of the world's largest economic and financial gatherings. The event will be held in Bangkok from October 12–18, 2026, and is expected to bring together more than 15,000 delegates from 191 countries, including finance ministers, central bankers, economists, business leaders, and policymakers. This will be Thailand's second time hosting the meetings, having previously hosted them in 1991.
