The Centre has finalised a 40-question Census 2027 form that will, for the first time in independent India, collect detailed caste information beyond SC/ST categories. The questionnaire will also seek details on Covid-19 vaccination, Aadhaar, voter ID, passport, mobile numbers, bank accounts and other identification documents.
