Ahmedabad Launches Hub-and-Spoke Service for Smoother Overseas Travel
What Happened
Ahmedabad has become the third Indian city after Amritsar and Varanasi to introduce the hub-and-spoke international flight system. Under the model, passengers can complete baggage check-in, customs and immigration formalities at Ahmedabad before flying to Delhi, where they can directly connect to international flights without repeating the same procedures. The service will provide access to around 15 international destinations via Delhi.
Key Takeaways
The initiative makes international travel faster and more convenient, especially for Gujarat's large NRI population and business travelers. It is also expected to boost tourism, trade and key industries by improving global connectivity from Ahmedabad.
