Bengaluru Airport to Charge Arriving Passengers From Sept 1

Published: 21 August 2026 · 1 min read

What Happened

From September 1, passengers arriving at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport will have to pay a User Development Fee (UDF) for the first time. Domestic arrivals will be charged ₹125 and international arrivals ₹426. At the same time, the UDF for departing passengers has been reduced, with domestic departures dropping from ₹550 to ₹300 and international departures from ₹1,500 to ₹997.

Key Takeaways

While departing passengers will see lower airport charges, Bengaluru becomes one of the few airports to levy a UDF on arriving passengers. For regular flyers, the move effectively redistributes airport infrastructure costs between arriving and departing travellers rather than eliminating them.
