Defence Ministry Orders 160 Indigenous SAT-SAAW Weapons for IAF

The Ministry of Defence has signed a ₹810.79 crore contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) to procure 160 Satellite Smart Anti-Airfield Weapons (SAT-SAAW) and associated equipment for the Indian Air Force (IAF). Developed by DRDO, the precision-guided glide bomb can be launched from Jaguar, Hawk and Su-30 MKI aircraft and is designed to strike enemy airfields from long stand-off ranges. The project falls under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category and includes 60% indigenous content.
