Delhi CNG Gets Costlier: IGL Raises Price to ₹86.98/kg

Published: 29 August 2026 · 1 min read

What Happened

Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) has increased CNG prices by ₹3.89 per kg in Delhi-NCR, taking the retail rate in Delhi from ₹83.09 to ₹86.98 per kg with effect from August 29. The company said the hike was necessary because of higher international LNG (liquefied natural gas) prices, which have raised input costs.

Key Takeaways

The increase is expected to raise operating costs for CNG-powered cars, taxis, auto-rickshaws and commercial vehicles across Delhi-NCR. IGL says the revision is aimed at partially offsetting rising LNG costs while ensuring uninterrupted fuel supplies.
