Digi Yatra Begins International Trials At Seven Indian Airports
What Happened
Digi Yatra has started international passenger trials at Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai, Chennai and Amritsar airports. The November-December 2026 trial covers select international flights operated by Air India and IndiGo. For now, only Indian nationals holding e-passports and travelling on participating Air India or IndiGo international flights are eligible. Digi Yatra can be used at enabled terminal-entry points, security hold areas and boarding gates.
Key Takeaways
Digi Yatra can simplify airport verification for eligible international flyers, but it does not replace passports, visa requirements, airline document checks or immigration procedures. A wider rollout is planned for 2027 based on feedback from the trials.
