Gurugram to get second power distributor as HERC opens door to competition
What Happened
The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) has granted Eleven Power Pvt Ltd a 25-year parallel electricity distribution licence for Gurugram and Nuh. It will operate alongside the existing distributor rather than replace it. The new network will be developed in phases, with consumer supply planned from FY2027-28. Eleven Power plans to invest ₹4,717 crore over five years, and more than 8.3 lakh consumers across households, farms, commercial establishments and industries could eventually get a choice of supplier.
