India Builds Integrated Logistics Network for Future Theatre Commands
What Happened
India’s Department of Military Affairs is developing an integrated logistics framework to support planned theatre commands. A Tri-Services Logistics Management Application is being built to provide real-time inventory visibility across the Army, Navy and Air Force and connect their existing systems. Work is also underway on a National Defence Codification System and a PM Gati Shakti Defence Portal.
Key Takeaways
The project aims to replace fragmented service-specific logistics with greater coordination across the armed forces. India already operates three Joint Logistics Nodes, while the new digital and physical infrastructure would expand integration needed for future joint operations.
