India finished 10th at the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai, improving from 13th place in 2024. The Indian contingent won six silver medals and 20 Medals for Excellence, with competitors excelling in fields such as bakery, dental prosthetics, digital media design, industrial design, logistics, and retail sales. The event brought together over 1,400 competitors from around 70 countries and regions, with India fielding its largest-ever team of 70 participants across 63 skill categories. Smriti Nambiar, who won silver in Bakery, was also named India's Best of Nation.
