India Climbs to 26th Spot in Global Real Estate Transparency Ranking
What Happened
India has entered the world's top 30 transparent real estate markets for the first time, ranking 26th globally in the 2026 JLL Global Real Estate Transparency Index (GRETI). The country improved five positions from 31st place and was named the most improved market in the Asia-Pacific region, driven by stronger regulations, digital land records, REIT growth and higher institutional investment.
Key Takeaways
Greater transparency makes India's property market more attractive to global investors, improving confidence in real estate transactions and helping attract long-term capital into sectors such as offices, housing and data centres.
