India Proposes New Power Trade Fee for Bangladesh

India has proposed a Settlement Nodal Agency (SNA) charge of ₹0.005 per unit on electricity supplied to Bangladesh. The fee is linked to the settlement and management of cross-border power transactions and would apply to 1,160MW of electricity imports handled through NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVN). Bangladesh is currently considering an agreement related to the new mechanism.
