India Sets Bigger Semiconductor Ambitions Under Semicon 2.0

Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that Semicon India 2.0 will target at least 200 chip-design startups and companies, more than doubling participation from the 105 startups involved in Semicon India 1.0. He said around 20 startups from the first phase secured venture funding of about ₹800 crore. The programme will focus on six pillars: chip design, machines and materials, semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging, R&D, and talent development.
