India's AI Momentum Grows as Private Investment Triples: World Bank

World Bank said India is among the top 10 emerging-market performers in AI readiness, supported by its large technical workforce, strong IT sector and digital public infrastructure. The report noted that private AI investment in India more than tripled to $4.1 billion in 2025 from $1.2 billion in 2024, while employment in Global Capability Centres (GCCs) rose to 2.36 million from 1.9 million a year earlier.
