Made-in-India Military Parachute Clears Extreme Altitude Trial
What Happened
DRDO successfully tested its indigenously developed Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) at the Nyoma-Mudh drop zone in Ladakh. Test jumpers exited at 22,000 feet in temperatures of around-15°C, deploying the parachute at 20,000 feet before landing safely at 13,700 feet. The trial also involved indigenous support systems, including a para computer, oxygen equipment and specialised jumpsuits.
