NCR Set for Faster Travel With Two New Namo Bharat Corridors
What Happened
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is reportedly close to securing approval for two new Namo Bharat RRTS corridors: Delhi–Panipat–Karnal and Delhi–Gurugram–Bawal. The projects are expected to reduce travel time from nearly 3 hours to 90 minutes between Delhi and Karnal, and from around 3 hours to 67 minutes between Delhi and Bawal. Preparatory work such as utility mapping and power-line shifting has already begun ahead of formal approval.
Key Takeaways
The proposed corridors aim to improve connectivity between Delhi and major industrial, educational and employment hubs in Haryana, including Panipat, Gurugram, Manesar and Bawal. The projects are expected to boost regional economic growth while significantly reducing daily commute times across the NCR.
