The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has brought smartphone screen protectors under India's compulsory registration framework. From April 1, 2027, all screen protectors sold in India must comply with the BIS standard IS 19348:2025 and obtain the required certification. Non-compliant products will not be allowed to be sold.
