Pune Gets 23-Km Pink Line As PM Modi Launches Metro Expansion
What Happened
PM Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Pune Metro’s 23-km Pink Line, connecting Maan and the Hinjewadi IT hub with Shivajinagar, and laid the foundation stone for four new Phase-II corridors. The overall projects involve investment of around ₹21,800 crore. The Pink Line was built at over ₹8,300 crore and will be operated entirely by women train operators. Phase-II, estimated at ₹13,500 crore, will comprise Lines 2A, 2B, 4 and 4A.
