Saudi Aramco Facility Hit by Fire Amid New Houthi Attack Claims
What Happened
Yemen's Houthi movement claimed it launched a drone attack on Saudi Aramco's Jizan (Jazan) refinery on August 9. Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said the refinery was targeted in response to alleged Saudi drone activity over Yemen. At the same time, Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry reported that a fire broke out at a facility belonging to the Aramco refinery in Jizan, but said industrial firefighting teams successfully extinguished the blaze and that no injuries were reported. The ministry did not immediately specify the cause of the fire.
